kpnuts Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Hi all well today is a bad day for me, my dad is 84 and I've been told by my mum he's gone into hospital with a chest and urine infection, he's on 24 hour oxygen and nebuliser, dosent look good my mum is complaining of pain in her lungs but won't see or tell a doctor as "she has to be there for dad" has sworn me not to mention to docs (I'm going to anyway) don't think things are looking very good.
CFMgarage Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Kenneth,Sorry to hear about your parents. Just be there for them and support them. I wish them a quick recovery and hope it'll all go well.
mikemodeler Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Sorry to hear the sad news, be there for them and by all means tell the doctor about your mother. I lost both of my parents within 21 months of each other and like you, my Mom was busy trying to take care of my Dad and didn't admit when she was not well.
GTJUNIOR Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 I too have parents in thier 80's and know how you feel. I hope that all goes well for you and your parents.
Roadrunner Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 It's something we all get to deal with sooner or later, and it's always emotionally difficult.
Snake45 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 It's something we all get to deal with sooner or later, and it's always emotionally difficult.Yup. Lost my Mom last year, and though Dad is still relatively healthy, as the late great Warren Zevon sang, "Time treats everybody like a fool." Sorry to hear of your situation.
kpnuts Posted May 18, 2016 Author Posted May 18, 2016 Hi all thanks for the kind words, docs been told, she's strained her chest, probably trying to move my dad on her own, instead of asking for help knowing her. she used to be a nurse and thinks she can still do it all.
