kilrathy10 Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 (edited) Well, Boys.....I decided to do another Raptor.....Went ahead and got the new one from Revell, and at first glance, leaves much to be desired....It is totally devoid of underside detail, and has NO mirror inserts for the rear view mirrors.....Had to make my own....But....As a curbside....It looks pretty cool....After a few minor details, it came out nice...Even gave it some dual exhaust.......Took about 3 days to get to this... kilrathy10 Posted May 19, 2016 Author Posted May 19, 2016 As I stated....Completely devoid of underside detail.....It's almost comical.....I've seen Hot Wheels with more detail......
GTJUNIOR Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Very nice Raptor, pity about the lack of undercarriage details.
Jhedir6 Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Nice truck. TBH I'm very disappointed in Revell, they did a great job on the 2015, tons of detail for a snap kit then less than a year later they drop this half-assed attempt. The body looks great, the dashboard looks good as do the rims, but the rest of the seats are terrible and the chassis is just the Autoshow chassis without the stamp. The 2016 Mustang is the same, hopefully someone at Revell pics up on these issues and fixes them for future releases. Nice work on yours tho, sorry to rant abit, its just that I love the Raptor trucks....maybe next time.David
slusher Posted May 21, 2016 Posted May 21, 2016 Great looking Raptor JT. They make nice shelf models. I need to get one...

And thanks for the compliments, Guys.....
Ridge Rider Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Nice job-I would agree the lack of detail is disappointing. I wonder if the 2015 chassis could be made to work. Such a shame Revell.

It fits, kind of..... I'm doing a 2017 Raptor for the Aussie Cannonball Run this year and I'm using the 2015 chassis under it. For the most part it fits, but you do have to do some mods to get it to sit right. I'm also using the 2015 interior floor pan and will then modify the 2017 interior panels and dash to fit. Unfortunately, the chassis' really aren't that similar, but hey, its a model so I'm gonna roll with it.David Edited May 23, 2016 by Jhedir6
V8 Trucker Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 With such Snap kits Revell would arguably provide for their young in model. You made the best of it! I just built the 2017 Ford GT.
