James Flowers Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 brings back memories of the show. looks nice
Guest BrianR Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Yep, that looks familiar. Wasn't he always having a problem getting her to run at a critical moment? Bullet looks good sitting in that seat too. Brian
59 Impala Posted August 5, 2006 Author Posted August 5, 2006 Thanks guys, and yep, 'ol Pat Brady had all kinds of problems with her at critical moments, and that's part of what made this fun to build, bringing back the memories. I also had some "problems" building her, but was well worth it in the end for me. Dan
mrglubaum Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 Great job! And thanks for the memories of sitting by the TV with my cowboy hat and cap pistols!
59 Impala Posted August 5, 2006 Author Posted August 5, 2006 Thanks guys, and you're welcome Lee. She was a fun build. I learned a lot because this is the first model that I scratch built parts and used parts from different kits and finally using brass sheet and copper wire. Dan
Rick Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 What show is that from? I've seen it before, just can't remember where. Great job!! Rick
Biscuitbuilder Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 What show is that from? I've seen it before, just can't remember where. Great job!! Rick Pat Brady, sidekick of Roy Rogers, was on the 50's Roy Rogers Show, which, at least here, ran on TV on Saturday mornings, before the coming of cartoons in that time slot. The opening trailer showed Pat driving Nellybelle at speed, alongside Roy Rogers on Trigger. Biscuitbuilder
Rick Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Oh OK, I'm a little too young to remember the show, but the opening trailer you mentioned here sounds awfully farmiliar. I must have seen a clip or maybe the show was in syndication at some point? Anyway, great looking model!! Rick
59 Impala Posted August 7, 2006 Author Posted August 7, 2006 Thanks Rick. Yeah, the show was originally back in the 50's, but it is still shown on some cable and public broadcasting stations. She really was a fun build. I learned a lot building her. Dan
