after finishing the 911 fiat 500, the mustang turbo and the '49 merc i had a lot of parts left:
- a 911 body (without fenders, bumpers and roof)
- a 426 hemi cross ram (optional engine for the merc)
- custom wheels and tyres (also optional for the merc)
- 2 bucket seats (guess what: optional for the merc)
and plenty of small parts
but no
- suspension
- transmission
- radiator

as of many volksrods have already been build from beetles but no porsches were "rodded", i decided to call it porschrod

basic decision was: front or rear engine? i wanted to keep the shape of the 911, so i could not mount the only suitable radiator (from a 1/12 motorcycle kit) i had in spare in the front. i decided to go for the front engine option, but to mount the radiator in the rear window with some extra air intakes and an electric fan.

i had to make a lot modifications to the 911 body (it was too wide, it was too long, it had no firewall, it had no transmission tunnel, and some more). as i wanted to use as many spare parts as possible i scratched a rollcage, head-rests for the seats, a wheelie-bar, front and rear suspensions, drumbrakes, differential and transmission, a fueltank and some more. also the engine was modified and detailed to my likings.

2 pics before painting and the result.
