Aftermarket Resin Hinged Side Doors for the AMT Ford Vantom Kits???

Recommended Posts

Your photo shows the mid length Econoline. I need one, too! It will take two kits. Use the rear doors from the second kit to make the side doors, I haven't figured out yet where to cut and section the two bodies for a longer wheelbase.

Wheelbase: 124” or 138”

Overall length: 186.8” (124” wb), 206.8” (138” wb)

Overall width: 70.3”

There's the numbers. Figure out the diff in wheelbase for 1/25" scale.
Here is a side shot. Print it out in 1/25" scale, use as a template.
Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

Here is a similar conversion that I built in 1984 using a modified 1981 issued MPC Cannonball Run 1978 Dodge van. Body and chassis modified to B300 maxi-van specs, with a second set of rear doors installed on right passenger side to provide windowed doors. Paint is Dupont Chrysler W1 with Testors orange.

The rear doors lack the lower-body sculpturing that the side panels have.  Maybe use a section of the drivers' side body panel from the donor body?
