Drake69 Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 (edited) It's amazing what some nice wheels, extra decals, blackwash, and some BMF will do for snap kits. Paint is Inca Gold and Flat Black for the vinyl top. Interior done in semi-gloss black with gold accents. I hate stray cat hairs that only show up in the pictures. Fortunately all I had to do was pluck it off. Grrrr..... Edited July 4, 2016 by Drake69
Drake69 Posted July 4, 2016 Author Posted July 4, 2016 I used Tamiya Smoke spray to tint the windows. Much better than the crystal ball look. I ran out of BMF, so I had to hand-paint the trim. Will go back and correct this later.
Jantrix Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 I like that quite a lot. The hood decals are striking and the paint work nicely. The black grill has me scratching my head though and it seems out of place. I may pick one of these up myself.
Mike 1017 Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 She looks good. The side mirrors need some foil or silver paint

Some of the gold lowrider owners here had their grills blacked out to set off the gold paint and chrome bumpers. It's a different kind of look, I'll concede to that. She looks good. The side mirrors need some foil or silver paint Yup, true that. I'll paint some on later and take some more pix. Thanks, guys!!! P.S. - don't say anything too loud, but those are Ford Mustang Mach 1 decals on the hood. The shape and length of them fit that hood perfectly! Edited July 4, 2016 by Drake69

Some of the later snap kits and curbsides build up nicely and are pleasurable to detail out.For the grill, I think what looks out of place is that it's glossy. I'd give it a shot of dull coat and I'd black out the lower grills in the bumper to match. The directionals in the bumper are white, I'd flow a bit of flat white in there, and if that's too much, polish it off the chrome highlights.

I can remove the front grill and just paint over it with flat black to remove the shine. Then I can hit the lower grills the same way to match, along with some flat white for the directionals.Good suggestion!
Lovefordgalaxie Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Cool color!!Did Gm also had a Inca Gold? I know of the Ford Inca Gold, that is a non metallic yellow.
