hello, newcomer to the forum.

I just had my interest in modelling reignited and the last time i did a model was when i was 16 and now i'm 34.  I just

opened up the box and starting to get things organized.  i've decided to go with Gulf colors, plastic performance parts Weld Wheels and,

since i've decided to build this up as an asphalt racer instead dirt, Goodyear asphalt slicks from plastics performance.  my big dilemma i'm

having right now is finding decent Gulf Racing decals. can anyone point me to the right direction? making my own decals would probably be outside of my realm at the moment.

any other tips would be appreciated also.

Great Kit to fuel the fires of model building. You'll have better luck with those decals searching the short track forums out there.

Hi Lloyd,

I'm not a home to be able to give you a part number but one of the Slixx Mom and Pop sheets has  three Gulf discs if I remember correctly.  I did a Corvair modified based on the same chassis you are using under your Mustang using those Slixx decals - they are very thin but a joy to use!

Cheers

thanks Alan, it's Mom and Pop sheet #1. I have some painting experience from working as a painter's helper in a body shop, i can actually paint the stripe instead of using a decal stripe. i'll definitely get that sheet and a number sheet if they have it.

i got this far into the build till i figured it's time to start painting stuff before i get into it any further. other wise i'm not going to get the big parts in.65MustangChassis.thumb.jpg.94234819a33dd

as for the decals there's some on the stock sheet that i can use like the flag, the hurst logo, stp logo and champion logo. the numbers available don't go with the Gulf racing theme.
