Dragline Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 I bought one yesterday at 22.00 plus ship on eBay. The guy had 5 total NOS sealed. He still has a few so if you are looking for one there ya go. Are these rare? I don't recall ever having seen this kit. I love goofy stuff like Dave Deal and T Daniel so this is right up my alley. That and it is completely representative of the period. At 22.00 it's cheaper than a modern kit and the subject was [for me] hard to resist. Any built-ups around? Bob
Mark Posted July 31, 2016 Posted July 31, 2016 Only issued once, so $22 isn't bad at all if you want one. It's based on an earlier Super Zinger kit, the figure is modified from the Stroker McGurk character included in one of the very early MPC Stroker kits (they did three or four of those if I remember right).
RAT-T Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 BOB, HOW BIG IS THAT? ABOUT THE SIZE OF THOSE POLAR LIGHT SNAP DRAGON KITS?
Dragline Posted August 1, 2016 Author Posted August 1, 2016 Could be 1/32 or so. IMO it's as cool as it gets. It really caught my eye.
unclescott58 Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Brings back bad memories of that CB/Dico era for me. But, in general it looks like a fun kit. And I hope you post the build of it when your done.
Dragline Posted August 1, 2016 Author Posted August 1, 2016 I will post when I build it. Could be a great slump buster kit.
Mooneyzs Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Bob... I am digging it. Gotta admit that sometimes like odd ball kits for a change of pace. Looking forward to seeing this one built.
Mr mopar Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 (edited) It came from the bones of the super zinger Fired Up Dodge fire truck................ Edited August 6, 2016 by Mr mopar
disabled modeler Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 I built both of these kits as a kid...they built nicely from what I can remember....very cool finds.
misterNNL Posted August 27, 2016 Posted August 27, 2016 I know Denny Johnston the designer and builder of the original Zingers. He still builds wildly creative stuff....unless you don't consider a 12 engine Fiat drag coupe as something radical! He lives here in Ohio and has been regular at the October NNL Nationals in the Toledo area.
Krazy Rick Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 (edited) I never had this one, but I've seen them around ........... it looks like a blast ..... Build it & enjoy !!! Edited February 17, 2017 by Krazy Rick wording changed
