gatorincebu Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 Kurt, That color looks good. I like your treatment of the exhaust ! Be Well Gator
KJ790 Posted September 6, 2016 Author Posted September 6, 2016 Got a little more paint on the cab today. Needs some touching up, but all in all it should work.
lapazleo Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Looking good I guessed your plans correctly. A bit of info the cat powered w9s Monfort had didn't have painted fuel tanks like the rest of the fleet which had small cam 350 Cummins and 4 x 4 transmissions.

A bit of info the cat powered w9s Monfort had didn't have painted fuel tanks like the rest of the fleet which had small cam 350 Cummins and 4 x 4 transmissions.Good eye. They had the lower door handles (paddle style) with diamond plate battery box covers and unpainted fuel tanks.
lapazleo Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Good eye. They had the lower door handles (paddle style) with diamond plate battery box covers and unpainted fuel tanks.I believe they also had the bigger air cleaners. They were the last Monfort w 9s as the next group Monfort bought were k 100s with 8v71t 350 detroits and allisons. The detroits didn't hold up well and some were replaced by the then new Cummins kt 450. Really liking this build.
disabled modeler Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 Awesome work....beautiful truck...engine weathering is top notch...!
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 WOW! I'm at a loss for words!! You have a way of capturing that old school look!! To say that I really like this one is an understatement!
gotnitro? Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Another awesome build you have going KJ !! Cool how small tweaks can give the trucks a completely new look and capturing that Ole school look along the way ! Very niceHope your vacation was a great time too!
KJ790 Posted September 14, 2016 Author Posted September 14, 2016 Finished up the grille and added a little weathering to the hood.
gatorincebu Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Kurt , That hood and grill look really good together. Be Well Gator

I used the kit frame, but I shortened it and removed the kit suspension mounts.
DumpyDan Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Looks so good, detailing on the motor is awesome
Andrew Howard Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 i like the way you have changed the snap kit, making it look a world better KJ,Robert Nagle did one of these over on Hanks, they look great, with the colour scheme.
KJ790 Posted September 18, 2016 Author Posted September 18, 2016 Managed to get the chassis painted and weathered. The engine is now in its final resting place. I just mocked the cab up to make sure everything clears. I had to move the hood hinges a little, but it should all fit. It sure is tight though!
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 (edited) I can not say enough how much I like this truck!! Excellent work!! Ready to see more!! Edited September 20, 2016 by DRIPTROIT 71

KJ790 Posted September 27, 2016 Author Posted September 27, 2016 I almost had a paint disaster while clearing over the decals, but I think I have salvaged it. Here is where it stands tonight.
