Porscheman Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 I built this one from slides I found in my mom's photo album. My Grandfather always had Fords, but in 1950 he wanted something a little different. This one is in his style, 2 tone and that's it, not even a radio. Radio's is a fad that'll never takeoff. Thanks for looking. Al Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
Ramfins59 Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Good looking Olds Al. I've got one of these "in the works" as a mild custom.
Harry P. Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Very nicely done, but what an odd color combination.
CometMan Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Very nice looking Olds, Al. Building something that is a copy of something you, or someone you kew, is always very special!
Tom Geiger Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Great model Al! My grandfather was a loyal customer to a neighbor and friend. He bought his cars from Al Black, who lived across the street from him. Up to 1955, he drove Plymouths an when he was up for a new car in 1963 Al was selling Chevys so he got a 4 door Impala. Next car he needed was in 1970 and Al had moved to the local Ford dealer. That netted him a 1970 LTD. Both Al and my grandfather retired, but my grandfather remained local to that Ford dealer buying a new gold LTD every 5 years or so, all the way through 1989!
Foxer Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 (edited) That's cool doing his car .. and I'm curious too about that color combo cause I'm sure the photos weren't color. Edited August 29, 2016 by Foxer
