I also never had any problem with the many I builtIn fact, one of the 56's is waiting to be Finished as a NomadRoof is from AMT's 55, interior panels are a combination of Revell 57 & AMT 55 Nomad pieces!!And Yes, I did Most of the work BEFORE Monogram did their 56 NomadAnd Mine Matches shape & size of that one!Just have to add the body trim!!! I only ever saw the Lowrider issue in PinkNot Lavender, And NO Metallic effect either!! Also, Did they do a Skip's issue of the 57 Hardtop? or Just the Nomad??Mine was a VERY Dark Blue Metallic, Not black!!!I used that one for parts on the 56 and to restore a built original 57 I also have an Unbuilt, Boxed Original 1969 issue of Revell's 57 Nomad
Ace-Garageguy Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 I just got the '73 release of the '57 Nomad. While I remember the '57 hardtop being challenging but basically a pretty good looking model, the '57 Nomad is the result of sloppy tooling modifications, obviously, to make a wagon from the existing shell. It's going to take a TON of correcting to look really good, especially the rear of the signature Nomad roof. So much in fact that I'm seriously considering pickup-trucking this one. And it's not "warpage". It's just incompetent and ham-handed re-tooling work.Too bad, but it really is a mess.
unclescott58 Posted September 21, 2016 Posted September 21, 2016 I'm not a big fan of '57 Chevys, except for the Nomad for some reason. I'd still like to see someone do a modern tooling of the '57. As popular as that car is, I can't understand why it hasn't been done yet.
