JerseeJerry55 Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 (edited) Mornin all,Quick question does anyone know what is the correct shade of green is for the Jimmy Means Turtle Wax Monte Aerocoupe. I know Old Coyote built a Turtle Wax Grand Prix. As always help is much appreciated. ThanksJerry Edited September 7, 2016 by JerseeJerry55
Old Coyote Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 (edited) The green I used building the Turtle Wax Grand Prix was just Testors Green Enamel from the little 1/4 oz jar. Thinned and put through my airbrush over a light gray primer. Don't know if it's totally correct, but it looked close to me. By the way, this car was built over 25 years ago with JNJ decals, Testors enamels, and rather limited building skills Edited September 8, 2016 by Old Coyote
bbowser Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 25 years or not, still a great looking model John!
JerseeJerry55 Posted September 8, 2016 Author Posted September 8, 2016 John,Thanks. In doing a bit of research on the Jimmy Means cars from 1987. In addition to the Grand Prix's Jimmy also ran Monte Aerocoupes in the Turtle Wax scheme. BTW the builds you have shown on the site in addition to the information you offer is invaluable to all of us. Your builds are PHENOMENAL. Thank you.Jerry
Hawk312 Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 The green one above looks great!! Have you looked at Rustoleum Meadow Green? The color reminds me of the older Turtle Wax cans. Valspar Luscious Green also looks close to me, but maybe a little light. I have used both (Valspar and Rustoleum) on my Lowes Skinner and Wheaties Earnhardts cars with success.
