Modlbldr Posted January 25, 2017 Author Posted January 25, 2017 (edited) Been working on this again today. Boring update. Been painting the chassis and suspension. Bumpers are sanded smooth and ready to chrome. I decided to just put an engine in that has the bottom detailed and glue the hood shut. I can't seem to find an engine that sits low enough to clear and I'm not willing to shell out money for another kit to get one that will fit.Hopefully some pictures tomorrow.Later- Edited January 25, 2017 by Modlbldr
Modlbldr Posted February 2, 2017 Author Posted February 2, 2017 Progress update. Got most of the chassis and exhaust done. Still need to glue the rear suspension in to get the rear down just a bit. http:// http:// http:// http:// Body, windshield frame and grille are just sitting in place. Later-
espo Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 This is really turning out nice. It might even look good without the bumpers.

Modlbldr Posted February 5, 2017 Author Posted February 5, 2017 Tonight's update. I got the chassis, suspension and exhaust completed tonight. Not much different than the previous pics except that the rear sits a bit lower, which is great! I was dreading chopping the windshield because I have never been able to do this without cracking the glass. Past the point of no return: http:// It didn't need much. http:// A little clean up and I think that will work. http:// http:// That's enough for tonight. As soon as I get my 1mm Molotow pen in I can finish the chrome in the interior and do a final polish for the shelf. Hopefully soon. Later-
Modlbldr Posted February 11, 2017 Author Posted February 11, 2017 So, disaster today. I decided to redo the chrome on the bumpers with my new chrome pens. I had painted them with Spaz Stix that didn't turn out well. So this morning at work I put them in Lacquer thinner and then immediately had to deal with a roof leak. At 2 PM I came back to the shop to find this. http:// I had planned to finish this up this weekend. Now I will have to do some scratcbuilding. Oh well. Later-
Modlbldr Posted February 26, 2017 Author Posted February 26, 2017 I received new bumpers for the TBird. I got one 1/24 front and one 1/25 and one 1/24 rear. Funny, but the 1/24 pieces fit perfect. The only noticeable difference is when splicing the sections from the 1/24 rear bumper to the 1/25 rear bumper in order to remove the Connie kit section. Here is what I have so far on both. Just need to do a bit of filing on the rear to get it smooth. Then I can chrome them and install. http:// http:// I have opened up the grille and am using window screen to replace the center. It is close to a stock look but allows the grille to be seen through. This way you can see the radiator with a puller style electric fan i have installed. I am almost finished with this one. Perhaps tonight or tomorrow I can have it in the "Under Glass" section. Later-
Modlbldr Posted March 22, 2017 Author Posted March 22, 2017 This one is done and in Under Glass. http:// Later-
