Len Geisler Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Picked myself up a R8 kit today, and want to build it in a factory color, can anyone recomend a source for factory paints? I saw someone by the name of Scalefinishes on Ebay, but they sell the paints in "pre thinned" one ounce bottles..... I am not so sure one ounce is enough Can anyone recomend another source where I can get more than one ounce??? Tks....
Nick F40 Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 http://autos.yahoo.com/audi_r8_coupe_quattro-colors/ Even has interiors. They don't have just blue-silver for the R8 I LOOOOVE the blue!
Brendan Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 Try MCW (Model Car World). Look under the R8R Paints. He does have the silver listed. Or send him the picture of the paint you want and he'll match it for you. I've dealt with him several times and he delivers an outstanding product. http://ourworld-top.cs.com/mcwautofinishes/index.html
Zoom Zoom Posted May 1, 2008 Posted May 1, 2008 If you want to see what each color looks like and the various interior colors, go to Audis website and build one. Audi Website

I have both Jet Blue Metallic and Mugello Blue Pearl. There are 2oz. bottles available. Unfortunately the only interior color I have is black, because those colors are a bit harder to get than I had planed on. What ever you're looking for let me know. VW Dave Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 When I worked for a VW/Audi dealer a few years back, I used genuine paint on a couple of models....they sold it in sprays as well as the touch-up bottles that could be thinned and airbrushed. This Tamiya Golf was shot with 2000 VW 'cosmic green' factory spray, topped with Tamiya clear:
