Snake45 Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Got mine at Walmart Wednesday. No cool Gasser features this time, but several good old-school hot rods for reference, including a '28 A roadster on '32 rails, an East-Coast type Deuce coupe (with Hemi!), and a very inspirational BARE STEEL A-coupe. If you're like me and don't care for the "visor" on A-coupes, this one has it removed, and several good photos of the area showing clearly how it was done.Well worth the price of admission.
GaryR Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 One of the three car mags I still buy! I'm old enough to remember a lot of the 60's Petersen stuff from the first go around! That is..the 60!Went to my first sports car race in 62 (?) or so, first drags in late 64! YES, I was a kid but I have been a drag fan ever since!A COOL magazine.
Greg Myers Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Funny thing, there were several stock versions of the Model A that didn't have the visor.
peter31a Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 By late 30 and into 31 they were trying to make their cars look more stylish in order to compete with Chevy and others. The Fordor sedan, the Vicky, the Station Wagon, the 400-A and others no longer had exterior sun visors. Instead they had funky interior sun visors that pretty much swing down into your face instead of swinging toward the windshield like modern cars.
