tim boyd Posted October 9, 2016 Author Posted October 9, 2016 On a related note, the Three and Five Window Coupes NNL Nats Cult Theme was a great success. Images and Builder Names to be posted, probably tomorrow, in the "Contests and Shows' section of this forum. Don't miss it! TIM
1930fordpickup Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Sure was a good showing Tim. 'Revell sure hit a home run with the 30 coupe being sold out already.

superbike-shaun Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Tim,awesome take, you amaze me,w Your passion towards ANYTHING you take on.thanks for your inspiration!
bobthehobbyguy Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Tim really nice work.I do have a question. From your model I can see the seam from the roof being seperate. I've also noticed this on serveral other build ups of this kit. Can the roof be glued to body before painting so that seam can be eliminated. Not a criticism just wondering.

I've also noticed this on serveral other build ups of this kit. Can the roof be glued to body before painting so that seam can be eliminated. Not a criticism just wondering. That's a great question, Bob. The answer is yes. In fact I glued the top in place before painting this model. Makes the interior assembly a bit more challenging, but not an issue for most people on this forum. I went a step further and completely filled/eliminated the seam on a Blue kitbash of this kit; it's pictured in my NNL Nats Cult Theme coverage in the "Contests and Shows" section of the "Community" section at the bottom of the forum. I think the fit is pretty good for a box stock application, but the molding operation is the way to go for an upper-end contest model. Best Regards....TIM
bobthehobbyguy Posted October 11, 2016 Posted October 11, 2016 Thanks Tim. Where do you have pictures of your blue kitbash for viewing?

I keep looking to try and find a way to make my own appear this clear and perfect, what a great incentive!Question: Pic #45, especially concerning the grill shell, it looks like metal. The light reflects, the blue oval, the whole deal is overwhelming. I've seen lots of polished nickel, but never any styrene that has that kind of shine. Could you offer some insight?Greetings, Michael

Could you offer some insight?Greetings, MichaelMichael....thanks for your comments. As regarding your question above, this is going to sound incredibly lame....but it is just the kit grille/radiator shell, with the Ford oval from the kit's decal sheet, and Tamiya Flat Black brush paint in the recessed grille area.I was going to say perhaps it was the lighting in the picture, but the Cult Theme table is over in one corner of the room and my camera/flash unit struggles with high-res/high depth of field photos in a non-tripod setup. So I can't offer much of an explanation, but sure glad it looks good to you. Best....TIM
