Jon Cole Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 I just bought a new type of glue @ Michael's... ...because I remember someone highly recommended it. "Crafter's Pick" Ultimate water-based super glue. Has anyone out there used this glue? How is it? Can it be used on windows without damaging anything? Also looked at the Testors bottle paints, something I rarely bother to do. I was surprised to find they had a black called "Rubber" (#1183). You can never have too many shades of black. Also got two different shades of what I refer to as "taillight red", #1152 Met. Red Rouge Met., and #1529 Red M.F. (metal flake?) Rouge Met. Thanks for any advise. -Jon-
billd64 Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Spyder; I was recently told about that color, and as advised i mixed it 50/50 with flat black, and it gives a more realistic used rubber appearence vs new tires. Especially on what is supposed to be displayed as a muddy vehicle or a "rpad vehicle". I was at two IPMS shows recently, and you'd be surprised how many armour guys are using it on trucks, and hummers, and some planes that are weathered bill I just bought a new type of glue @ Michael's... ...because I remember someone highly recommended it. jeffinvt Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 If you use the rubber right out of the bottle it will look a little brown. Check out the air box on this build, it's straight rubber, so maybe mixing with flat black would be the way to go. Let us know how that glue works out...
MikeMc Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 (edited) Great Glue!!! I started using it for mockups and it works!!!!!!!!! It will soften in water and dries sorta rubbery and it will work for masking paints It is like Elmers white glue so it is used to put all my glass in.......it is A SLOW DRYER!!!!! This WIP is held together with it!!I like the fact I can mock up the chrome blower, manifold , front cover and, bell housing....then peel and paint then reassemble!!! great for suspension work!!
