Interesting. I like that guy was having fun. But... he may carried a little too far? But, it hurt nobody I assume. So why not be a little funky? I've found over the years, it's okay to do weird things like that. People, mainly other adults, may think you stupid for doing it. But, isn't the goal in life to be happy? And again if your not harming others, what's wrong with being happy and acting a little strange?

I do a lot of strange things at my job working with kids. Mainly I sing. The older kids sometimes think it's stupid at first. But it almost always brings a smile to their faces. So my "stupidness" seems to pays off in the long run. I love it when I walk into a school and hear, "Hey, aren't you the sub that sings?" And almost always when I answer yes, they then ask me to sing. Every morning in home rooms or "morning meetings" I sing part of the Good Morning song from Singing in the Rain. Been singing the Good Morning song in schools for the last four years now. The younger kids will ask me if I have an afternoon/goodbye song? So just this last week, I decided to learned Dale Evans and Roy Rogers song, Happy Trials. Which Dale wrote. And so far the kids are loving it.

The other strange, but fun thing I do, is go to different events as part of group of Pirates. A friend of mine looks exactly like Captain Jack Sparrow. (If you want to se how close he looks, look up Twin Cities Captain Jack on the web and/or Facebook.) And I play one of his crew. The somewhat dimwited "Dudley the Deck Hand." In fact we're doing a Halloween Walk in a local park this weekend. I tell bad Pirate jokes (and I have many). Lose many sword fights to kids. And in general have a great time. Some events we do for charity. But others we get paid for. How can you beat that? Getting paid to act like a fool. I love it.

So, I'd encourage that race marshal to keep on being funky. After all, would we have ever known about him if he wasn't? It's amazing. People from around the world have now seen this guy. How many of us can say the same of ourselves?
