JollySipper Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 I was wondering what would be the best product for removing a little cloudiness that I got in the hood of my Impala. I don't want anything that's gonna haze the finish, since I would then have to polish it back out.... Would Novus 1 do the trick? How about a wax of some sort from Advance Auto? Thank You, you friendly and knowledgeable bunch of Guys, you..............!!
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 If it's clear lacquer, and just a little humidity-blush, it will polish out with a VERY mild polish, possibly even toothpaste.
JollySipper Posted November 4, 2016 Author Posted November 4, 2016 Thanks, Bill........ It's DupliColor's Perfect Match clear, and it's just a bit of humidity blush.
JollySipper Posted November 17, 2016 Author Posted November 17, 2016 So I was gonna try to pick up some Scratch-X next time at the auto parts store. From what I've read and seen, it would be perfect for removing the little bit of blush on the hood of my Impala....... I have a question on how to use it, tho. Do I use it like a wax (apply, haze, remove) or should I actually polish with it?Thanks for any insight on this......................................
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 You can use pretty much any mild polish on the Duplicolor clear to remove that haze.I use the Perfect Match clear all of the time & I usually don't have much problem with the clear fogging, although the colors haze on me most of the time. The hazing that I've had on the colors almost rubs off with a finger. So Novus will work just fine.I would probably use the #2 "Fine Scratch Remover" first as it has a little more abrasive in it where the #1 "Clean & Shine" has virtually none.Your favorite automotive polish will do the trick as well.I use Turtle Wax "Scratch & Swirl" remover as a final polish on the Duplicolor clear. It will give you a very nice high gloss finish.
