Guys, how do you do it?

How do you apply this stuff?

I like the idea of braided wire for external oil lines, but can't really enjoy using for fuel lines to a carb motor.

Do you feed a smaller wire through the braided wire to make it usable?

What is the standard usage of this material?

Anyone?

Go to a fabric/crafts store like So-Fro or Joanne's. Look at their "piping." You'll see some stuff that will make excellent braided hoses, in several sizes, and it's very flexible.

I typically use steel line for the carb hookup. I've used braid to a Tee connection and then bead wire to the carb for a double pumper.

Also, different braided wire has different characteristics. Some has wire in it, some don't.

Finally, check Ted's YouTube vid, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98v1g1kZgrg

Good luck!

Remember when using braided wire for fuel lines, etc. that you need to find out when the drag racers first started using them in order to be "period correct." I build drag cars from the mid-60's and the braided lines weren't really used back then.

The first car I've seen them on was a '67 Cougar funny car--the STP one, I think. Not that that was the first, just the oldest I've noticed so far.
