This little kit was a pain. It is the Gunze Sangyo kit. Painted red and white using Krylon Short Cuts paint and clear. The roof does work but is not without it problems. I found the fit to be not great ( maybe my fault ) and the hinges are stiff and fragile. Not something you want to move much. The windshield frame was cracked and so thin it was very fragile. I had to repair it 3 times. The last time I got overly aggressive with it and was rewarded with glue on the windshield. I dare not take it out to polish it because I knew the frame would break again. I decided to tint it blue in hopes to hide the glue. I did not work. : ) This is not my best work but to be honest I am amazed I finished it and did not make it a wall missile . On with the show !!

Beautiful old Ford, came out really nice even with the troubles.  That continental kit looks big enough to hold a AA/FD slick ;).

It looks good other than the two issues mentioned. Sound like this kit, as well as the Revell one, are like the old proverb "Beware what you wish for..."! So many of us fall for a kit of a beautiful old chrome dinosaur of a Ford, with the really cool retractable hard top to boot, but when we actually try to build the darn thing...!

Looks good,  I remember when these came out,  never did get mine together,   If I remember correctly it did become a "wall missle " !

Nice, despite your reservations.

I built most of the 1/32 Gunze range, primarily as slot car conversions though missed this one out. I did notice the styrene is more brittle, more like coloured clear that is used for windscreens(shields).  Personally I would have left off the continental deck.

The Gunze cars were great for the track, my favourite was the Impala but my son always nabbed the 59 Cadillac as the back swung out and could knock the following car off the track. The tyres can also be used on slot tracks using slower older cars and the custom parts wire wheels can be cut and glued for other stuff that uses those aluminium screw on types.

Dan, I think you could do a better job than I did. I would just caution you on the windshield frame. It is very thin and fragile. I had to paint mine silver because there was no way it would hold up for some BMF.
