Southern Fried Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 OK. Just picked up the AMT Baldwin Motion Camaro. Having had the "Old" Z-28 version. years ago, I knew this one was a new tooling. I got it for the "parts" to do another kit...tires, wheels, engine, etc.Upon opening it, I was pleasantly surprised. This one runs circles around the "old" kit. Question is...is the AMT 70 1/2 Z-28 that was last released ( Lime Green actual car box art ) the "old' molding, or, the current Baldwin Motion tool???Thanks in advance.
Rob Hall Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 (edited) The recent releases of the Z/28 is from the same modern 90s era tooling as the B-M. The 'old' tool Z/28 w/ the bad front end was only issued once around 1990 IIRC (#6896, red car on gray background box art), AMT/ERTL logos). Edited November 27, 2016 by Rob Hall
Don Sikora II Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Yes, the Z-28 kit with the green car on the box is from the new tooling....the current-production version of it has an orange built up on the box and the name of the car is inside of an orange stripe below the picture.
AC Norton Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 ......all I can throw into this thread is that I have the Model King 70 1/2 Z28 issue, and of course it's identical to the newer AMT issue's, however it's molded in white plastic, and contains a killer decal sheet with LOT'S of stripe's, race goodie's, and some other nice bit's and piece's on the sheet. if somebody is looking to get a 70 1/2 Z28 kit, it is really a great version to consider........just my 2 cent's....the Ace....
