OK. Just picked up the AMT Baldwin Motion Camaro. Having had the "Old" Z-28 version. years ago, I knew this one was a new tooling. I got it for the "parts" to do another kit...tires, wheels, engine, etc.

Upon opening it, I was pleasantly surprised. This one runs circles around the "old" kit.

Question is...is the AMT 70 1/2 Z-28 that was last released ( Lime Green actual car box art ) the "old' molding, or, the current Baldwin Motion tool???

Thanks in advance.

The recent releases of the Z/28 is from the same modern 90s era tooling as the B-M.   The 'old' tool Z/28 w/ the bad front end was only issued once around 1990 IIRC (#6896, red car on gray background box art), AMT/ERTL logos).

Yes, the Z-28 kit with the green car on the box is from the new tooling....the current-production version of it has an orange built up on the box and the name of the car is inside of an orange stripe below the picture.

......all I can throw into this thread is that I have the Model King 70 1/2 Z28 issue, and of course it's identical to the newer AMT  issue's, however it's molded in white plastic, and contains a killer decal sheet  with LOT'S of stripe's, race  goodie's,  and some other nice bit's and piece's on the sheet. if somebody is looking to get a 70 1/2 Z28 kit, it is really a great version to consider........just my 2 cent's....the Ace....;)
