Jantrix Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) Has anyone yet test fitted the duval style windshield from the AMT Phantom Vickie on the recent Revell '29 roadster? Something like this has to happen. Edited December 15, 2016 by Jantrix
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 That's a Hallock windshield in your photo, actually. The DuVall in the Phantom Vickie kit is the right width for Revell's '29 body, but the top of the cowl will require significant rework.Start by filing off the original mounting ridge, and continue fitting from there.
misterNNL Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 FYI the windshield in your photo is actually a Hallock style. The basic difference between it and the Duval id that the Duval has a frame on all four sides of the glass and the Hallock has no frame at the top edge.Great reference photo BTW.
Jantrix Posted December 15, 2016 Author Posted December 15, 2016 (edited) Okay since the other pic was distracting, I've replaced it with a pic of the windshield in question. Thank you for the info. Edited December 15, 2016 by Jantrix
misterNNL Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 The first photo was actually very cool and just might inspire some to attempt to clone it in scale.I noticed the highboy did not have any visible headlights.Maybe the luck guy was going racing.
Jantrix Posted March 15, 2018 Author Posted March 15, 2018 (edited) I'm gonna give this a try here, very soon. Has anyone else tried it yet? This roadster is in the planning stages. Edited March 15, 2018 by Jantrix
