Cummins engines were generally Cummins Tan or a navy-gray type color. Truck makers also painted the engines whatever they wanted, if my memory serves, KW and Pete motors were white or their OEM color, Ford engines were blue, and I believe GM ran the motors with their OEM color.

As in the title, I'm looking to find out what color Cummins engines were in the 50's and 60's.  Thanks.

Most likely for that time period would have been a Cummins 220, and it would have been yellow. Ive seen plenty of these in original trucks and restorations and they are yellow. It almost looks like a Cat, but its a Cummins.Google Cummins 220, or H model and youll see what I mean. Not sure if this photo link will work.

That color is known as Cummins gold used into the 60s before the switch to tan. Some manufacturers ordered engines in their color Pete and Kw white, Ford blue and IH red.
