madhorseman Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 (edited) This was built up from a Testors diecast kit with a few mods. Including adding Revell-Monogram Nascar Thunderbird engine bits, wires and hoses. Thanks for looking. Edited December 28, 2016 by madhorseman
Snake45 Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Very nice work indeed! I almost bought one of these kits not long ago. I'm not a fan of this generation of Mustang but thought this might be the best scale representation of it available today. Your nice build confirms my suspicion. Nicely done!

Rich, I always felt the same way about the '71-73s. A few years ago I bought a re-issued AMT Boss 351 kit and noticed that it looked kinda off. Then I started seeing these on EBAY, first buying a '71 black and silver Mach 1. I liked it so much I looked for this Boss. Couple of things I forgot to mention are the magnums are pilfered from a Monogram Shelby kit and tail pipes are aluminum tubing. Need to try to get some engine compartment pics. Also the front bumper should probably be chrome??? This is what the kit wheels looked like Edited December 28, 2016 by madhorseman
landman Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Very nice. If I recall correctly, the front bumper should be body color.
Rodent Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Mach 1 had a body-colored bumper, the Boss 351 should have a chrome standard bumper, IIRC.

Rodent Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Beautiful car! Also, the Boss did not have the honeycomb panel between the taillights.A fun read for a trip down memory lane: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/1971-ford-mustang-boss-351-review
