I have had this build in my mind for years, and have been gathering bits and pieces for it and decided to at least get a thread going for it that I can add to as I go.... Dia De Los Muertos or day of the dead that is celebrated in Mexico and other South American cities as well as here in the states. Going to have a feel for that on this build using the Tijuana Taxi and the Boot Hill express but just the main body of the express as a casket... So I have 3 other main builds going on and now this one... Will add as I have updates...

opening up the back doors, will make a half door out of screen or some type of material first of the mods....

Seems like a pretty cool idea so far!

When I saw your thread title, I instantly thought of this song

Jesse, that's a cool video/song

got a little work done, gonna eliminate the chicken coop off of the roof, will have a bunch of luggage for the roof however, never liked that feature anyway, may add it to the coffin trailer buit will see. Have finally gotten the back doors open ready for some kind of door work...

Back Door idea...

IMG_3803.JPG.opt570x760o0%2C0s570x760.JP

got the holes filled for the chicken coop Like I said before really did not like that feature at least for the roof.... Also looking at adding hydraulics and wire wheels, looking at lowering the rear suspension location points as well, I like the look of it sitting flat on the ground instead of the huge rake the stock taxi has.... I know its supposed to be a rod but I like to low ride rides....

NIICE!!!!!

Darren, what color of red/orange are you using on these parts? I'm asking because I'm liking the "shade" that it is! one time it looks like a Redish orange and another time it looks like a slightly lighter Orange. And then in your last pics its more red then orange. interesting color!

John, the colors in the pics so far is the plastic they came molded in. The tijuana taxi is the lighter orange and the parts from the boot hill express are the redder/orange. But so far just the stock plastic.

Darren,

That plastic then is so consistent its not funny! (IF thats not the camera making it look that way!) As that looked "sprayed" on!

It is also much more brittle plastic as well...

cut off the rear thingy thing that holds the axle in order to raise it up to level out the ride...may extend it a bit to add the full hydraulic suspension with batteries and the full nine yards, working on that in my mind thou...

Old kit I take it? A lot of times I find that the older kits the plastic gets brittle..... AND or if it has been stripped several times, it gets brittle from it too!

John, the taxi is the reissued from 2009, however the boot hill is the original issue which was hard at first to actually begin hacking away at it, even thou that one has been reissued a lot, never really like the kit, but hung on to it knowing I would always use it as a trailer. Never a fan of the show rod but it is coming in handy right now.
