lvfd221 Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Hi guys, I will be going to Atlanta at the end of Jan. for work and will have a few days off. Any words on hobby shops to visit would be welcomed. Thanks Rex
Zoom Zoom Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 There's a big Hobbytown USA in Kennesaw, northwest of Atlanta, and if you want the best hobby shop in the region, you have to drive up to Blue Ridge to Free Time Hobbies. Excellent shop, excellent selection, great prices.
drsnapper55 Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Second that, and Free Time is a nice family run business. It's a ways from Atlanta, and while both are on the same route, there is plenty else to do and see along the way. If you go, you'll pass Bigun's BBQ on the highway on the right - recommended.
Zoom Zoom Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Isn't Model Roundup from around there ?Yes, but mail order only, no showroom.
Fabrux Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Do any of these places have easy access to the interstate and truck parking?
Zoom Zoom Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Do any of these places have easy access to the interstate and truck parking? Yes. Hobbytown is right off of I-75 in a major shopping center, Free Time is along the major 4 lane highway running through Blue Ridge.
lvfd221 Posted January 7, 2017 Author Posted January 7, 2017 Thanks for the info. I will have A long weekend down there so I will try to go to both those places.
dragcarz Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Atlanta is a very large region, spreads out for miles and traffic is a nightmare. Allow plenty of travel time. Try B&B Hobby 1142 Athens Hwy. Ste 107. Grayson Ga.30017. Lots of kits, scratch building plastic, great paint selection.
