oohw..That's a not often seen style for a Pro Stock/street....Very neat. B)

Great start, look forward to seeing some more progress Jim. :)

Since you're still in the forming stage, a bit of technical criticism (of the constructive variety only) : The quarter window should be either a bit wider and slightly sloped up and back at the rear for a coupe, or slightly narrower with a bit more curve at the rear bottom corner for a Ghia.

VERY nice conversion, though. Looks better than the ones I've done, that's for sure.

Did you scratch build the coupe roof or convert something else to fit? So far (amateur that I am) I've used sections of 66 Mustang hardtops for mine, because I'm just not confident enough to scratch build those lines. Messing around with some junk I had from some Ebay parts lots last night, I'm doing a custom chopped coupe using the roof and deck from an early 60's T-bird (fairly boxy). It doesn't look like a II coupe, but I AM surprised at how good it looks...

Okay, picky, picky, but the rear pillar (below the quarter window) should flow into the side of the car more(no dimple where the window surround meets the body...

I only mention it because you are obviously good enough at it to make it worth noting.

If you'll excuse the term: That's F***ING awesome bodywork, man! :D

i dimpled it on purpose.

this is getting a ghia top and i wanted it tighter to the body.

and thank you

Ahhh, that makes sense then. The "vinyl" top will fill it in with the trim to cover the seam, eh? You sneaky devil

Hopefully my sig. lines help tell you how much my praise for your efforts really means. I am TRULY a Mustang II FANATIC (currently own 6 in 1/1 scale, 4 completed 1/24 & 1/25, and about 25 WIP, and only ONE of my 1/1's comes even close to your 1/25 coupe...)

No, its NOT a 74. The 74 (and ONLY the 74) had the fuel filler below the side body line, as well as the straight-across hoodline. In 75, they moved the fuel filler up above the body line and moved JUST the rad support forward (which required the center section of the hood to be lengthened.

Trust me on this one. I have (in 1/1 scale) a 74 coupe, a 78 coupe, a 77 fastback, a 78 fastback T-top, a 77 Cobra II, and a 78 King Cobra sitting in my driveway...

Oh, and in 74 the V8 was available, but only in Mexican Mustang II's, because the cars didn't get engines until they crossed the border, and I guess nobody told Ford of Mexico that they were only supposed to get the I4 or V6.

I do trust you BUT....the long nose was only on the 1974.....go look and you will notice only the 1974 had the 5" nose 1975 on up it was 2".I ordered my 1:1 on 2/21/74 and picked it up on 4/3/74..my first new car!

This build is based on the firefighter kit one of the most inaccurate kits ever done so bad that SMBC made a corrected version of this in resin

sorry for going off topic

;) Mike, Back in74/75 my bro had a little turquiose blue/green mustang II with a in-line 300 cubic in 6 cylinder!,auto trans. It had what seemed like a tad longer hood.I've never seen another one.Was it a mexican version?I KNOW this thing exsisted cause we would freak other guys out with it.and after he hopped it up it ran like hell!!!and it came that way from furd and had A/C. you ever heard of one? Please let me know.:D:D

Wouldn't be the Firefighter. I have two of the re-issue and an original. All three have the correct '74 gas cap below the body line. The biggest inaccuracy in the Firefighter kit is the engine. The rest is either "correct" or something that would have been a logical upgrade for a pro-street II. You are correct about the header panel/hood difference, though. I can't really tell for sure, but the last pic leads me to think it does in fact have the 75-78 hood line.

For George: Any Mustang II that came from Ford with ANY engine other than the 2.3 I4, the 2.8 V6, the 302 V8 or the 5.0 V8 (NO, the 5.0 did NOT start with the Foxbody Mustangs!!!) would have to be one of two things: a) a prototype that never made production, but snuck through the cracks or :) assembled for original sale outside the US and Canada.

But if you think the 3.3 I6 had balls with a slushbox, try driving one with an SROD 4-speed. Completely different performance (only downside is the HUGE gap between 2nd and 3rd)
