I like your color choice. What do you have in mind for the roof color?? I would avoid leaving the clear plastic masking on the body very long. I used this  method once and the plastic wrap reacted with the paint on the main body, it was a mess. It may have been the brand of clear wrap I used, Glad Press'n Seal.

The tape was Tamiya but I suspect the humbrol silver base........

I would agree that the paint must be the issue.

Normally, Tamiya tape is very forgiving in this type of situation.

I've had the same problem with Testors silver, gold & copper spray enamels many years ago.

Back to the drawing board, huh? :unsure:

Aww That's heart breaking  and it was looking great too :(.This happened to me also when I was doing my Acura.If you do it right away,a dip in purple power degreaser for a day or so should take that paint right off and back down to plastic.

Don't worry It happens to many of us.Even those of us that have been doing it for years.That's why I keep a tub of purple power degreser on stand by "just in case" :)
