bubbaman Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 tell me why it`s soooo hard to find a 55 chevy to order -
High octane Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Hmmm, didn't realize there was a shortage of '55 Chevy kits as I used to have a lot of them before "down sizing." I still have a couple in the stash in case I get back in the "gasser mood."
Snake45 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Maybe none are in production at the moment. But there should be plenty of them on eBay.
Xingu Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 You can try places like Spotlight Hobbies and Model Roundup. They usually have older kits for sale. The 55's are fairly plentiful and cheap.
Rob Hall Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 But there should be plenty of them on eBay.Yes, 193 hits on AMT '55 Chevy, 83 on Revell...plenty of them out there...
Craig Irwin Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 It's the AMT stock Sedan thats tough to find, all of the Revell kits you could ever want are out there.

BigTallDad Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 The AMT 2-dr sedan was a bit on the crude side (molded in exhaust/undercarriage etc.). I used the Monogram convertible kit for the under carriage and some of the engine parts.

You were lucky, I haven't seen one at a show / swap meet in years, but there are 4 on ebay right now so they aren't impossible. Last fall when I needed one I couldn't find one.
