Here is a 34 Ford. I sanded down the sun roof and shot some Sublime Green on it, the panels and will soon have it on the frame.

I am gonna go with the street version of the kit, with the edelbrock accesories on the V8. Probably Blue, and a tan interior.

That's one of those things that has always annoyed the ###### outta me with that kit, and have always wondered why it was made like that.

On the original '34 5 window coupes, the little pices of sheetmetal in rear of the window opening is there because of the way the window opened. It would first slide back about an inch, almost like an early version of a vent window, before it would begin to roll down.

Some guys who have put power windows in their Coupes have removed the feature and the piece of steel in the opening when they change them over to a different system, partially explaining why the box art photo doesn't have it in the picture. Either that or the builder thought it was wrong or maybe just didn't like it and took it out. Who knows???

The 3 window coupes also had this feature, but it's more visible on the 5 window coupe, being a bit more pronounced.

She said she wanted to paint one, so I told her to pick one out and she picked that one. She sat in the garage at my desk and just started painting, I put everything together. Also got a purple jeep some where.

Oh and its going fenderless, so if anyone needs them let me know and maybe we can work something out. And I will get them out when I get paid again.

Gottcha, that's for the response! I noticed it on a door that was being modded in the current Rod & Custom that I was assuming might have been a real car that was being cut up.

Ok I have been tinkering with this off and on and I got a little work done.

Got the rear suspension on

34Ford006.jpg

Got the Front suspension on

34Ford007.jpg

What do you get when you take these and add these?

34Ford008.jpg

You get a rolling chassis (wont be rolling for long.)

34Ford009.jpg

Almost got the engine done: Small Block Chevy 383 cu. in. ( I know Chevy in a Ford, but this one has more shiney parts)

Using a prewired distributor from Raul who got it from Morgan Detail.

34Ford011.jpg

34Ford012.jpg

Can anyone tell me why there is a ninth wire coming from the distributor though?

More updates at a later date.

Thanks for Looking.

Coil wire. You're not gonna leave the plug wires that long are you?

Where does it go?

I was planning on leaving them that long....... or not. I was just testing them because the exhaust covers up a few of the holes I drilled for them.

B) Clay The 9th wire goes from the CENTER terminal on the distributor to a coil, that can be anywhere you want to put it.It's usually on the firewall and it's a canister looking thing about 7or8 inches long and about 2or3 inches thick. You can make one from some sprue just take an equivalent size(to scale)an drill ahole in the center of it (it'll look like a firecracker) and attach it somewhere near the engine.Paint it black.Viola! a coil.(unless you wanna go with a HEI type ignitions,in which case, you won't need one) :D Semper Fi!!!

Actually, I stole Clay's avatar!! :D Kind of...

He made his avatar from a copy of a picture I took and sent him of the model I built for him before I posted the pictures on the forum.

I then copied his avatar because the one I was using was of the Avanti before it was finished, and I liked the picture of the finished car better.

Did anyone follow that? ;)

the car looks good and i have wanted to do a fenderless 34 for a while know but my question is since the floor pan and chassis are together do you thinnk it would look right without fenders. also its 2 in 1 so does the stock car have diffrent running gear motor axel ect. any help would be nice thankyou

Posted (edited)

Yes it comes with stock parts, different axles, and a flat head engine. Also comes with 2 interior tubs, seats and grilles. Also I have noticed that without the fenders there is a gap under the trunk with nothing to cover it up. Will probably try to get a gas tank or something to put there.

I have a suggestion for the gap.

When I built the street rod kit in the 90's I cut the tank off the frame, and the tank cover from the fenders and placed the tank cover in place of the tank, filed, cut and putted to fit. Or just cut the tank cover from the fenders and glue in place.

If I still had the build-up I would take pictures, but I don't.
