Brudda Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Tamiya 1/48 scale. First time for a ww2 subject. All tamiya paints. Hope you like .
Brudda Posted March 8, 2017 Author Posted March 8, 2017 Thank you very much. I'm taking it to our Ipms meeting and I think they are going to faint. First time I brought something other than a car.
Jim B Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Very nice looking Spitfire. Well done. Which version is this one?
Xingu Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 WWII warbirds are far and away my favorites. I briefly entertained the idea of learning to fly, just so I could (hopefully) fly one. Then I found out how expensive they are to purchase, and to maintain. Decided it would be cheaper to visit a few airshows and build R/C versions.I have a few models that I have squirreled away that I will eventually get to.
Brudda Posted March 9, 2017 Author Posted March 9, 2017 Well with my very limited experience with air craft this is a mk 5 version. Although the decals are for a mk9 version. I tore the tamiya decals so a aircraft friend of mine gave me a aftermarket set. Not really accurate but for me it was more of a paint experience and decal experience. Tried washes and weathering. It just about killled me to put a wash and weather a good paint job. I'm going to try another one soon. Thank you for the great comments
bogger44 Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Oh wow, that's a beauty! Very convincing weathering.
