Has anyone tried power coat powder for floor mats?

I bought some embossing powder yesterday and noticed that it was similar, but coarser than the powder coat powder I've used for coating fishing jigs.

I have some somewhere and I thought I'd experiment with it using the Elmer's glue application, or maybe applying it over wet paint.  Has anyone tried it?  It's really fine powder.
