Hello all...

A little back story...

I decided a few years back to assemble my first partscaster. After extensive research I decided to go with Warmoth. The build went splendidly. And that guitar has become my favorite by far... I then decided to build my son one for a graduation present. He graduates in 2018, so I have plenty of time to get all the stuff and assemble over a couple years. At the time I decided it was 2015, so yeah, plenty of time... SOOO... I purchased not one but 2 unfinished warmoth bodies, just incase I wanted to do another one...  and ashamed to say... forgot about about 1 of them.

Around Christmas, I started compiling the last of the parts to build my sons graduation present. While diggin out the hardware, to take inventory, I stumbled on the body that I had forgotten about. I decided to get it painted a sunburst in nitro. Sent some emails to various shops, since a sunburst is way outta my realm of comfort. I decided to work with MJT aged finishes...

I decided to go for what they call, a closet clean finish. It's meant to look like a guitar that was purchased 50 or so years ago, played for awhile, then put away and forgotten. Slighty banged up, dulling to the finish, maybe some cracks here and there...

This is what it came back looking like...

It came back looking even better than I expected...

I got on Warmoth and came across a neck in their showcase section, that had an "aged" satin finish. But this one was a little lighter than the norm... which is good, because an "aged" finish usually means....YELLOW... Ordered a prewired pickguard from Sigler music. I like buying my guitar electronics from them. Kinda a small shop... Not a Guitar Center... I don't do guitar center...

Anyway, to keep from boring you any further this past weekend I assembled it... put it through it's paces at practice last night... and I'm pleased to say I think she's a keeper...

So, without further ado...

Still have to put on a headstock decal... if I do... but this is basically how she'll look.

Good thing the kiddo don't graduate for another year lol... as always, thanks for looking.

That's pretty awesome!

DO you know what pickups it has? The single coils appear to be Seymour Duncans, just wondering what type.

I love Warmoth parts. I used one of their necks on a Strat re-build I did a year or so ago. One of the hobbies I don't have time for is rebuilding and hotrodding guitars. I buy a hurting example off of Kijiji or EBay, then gut it, strip it, and completely redo it. I bought a mid-90s US Stratocaster that had seen better days. Turns out, the neck was completely gone and unsalvageable. Warmoth to the rescue! I was going to post a pic here and partially hijack your thread, but I think I'll start my own thread tomorrow.

In other news, watch for a PM shortly. :)

Thanks, Dan! I do appreciate it!

I'm a Jb in the bridge of a strat sort of guy... Have 2 with the JB/Jazz combo. I love the sound of single coils, but they don't really go well with my band... and the buzzing in some of the DIVES we play, would be hellabad... so I tend to only play them at home.So this time I wanted to do something a little different, but not upset all the settings on my amp. In the neck I have a STk S7 and a STk S4m in the middle, but the bridge is still a JB.

Can't wait to see your guitar!

In other news, PM'd ya back...

Really nice guitar! I collect the old cheap knock offs, usually Korean or Japanese made like a Hi-Lo. I have a Pro Aria XX in black and a couple of others. These are usually pretty beat when I get them and are used mostly as air guitar props at karaoke. My question is, can a person find parts to actually make these a working guitar?

It all depends how far you want to go with the rebuilding. eBay can be a good source, but you really have to watch out for shipping. Allparts is good for a lot of little bits and pieces, and the Stratosphere is good (if a bit pricey) for locating OEM parts.

I do strats and teles, so my "hardware" comes from fender or the stratosphere. I really can't give any solid info on any Aria parts...

Thanks for lookin...
