purvissp Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 After wondering how many model car builders there were out there I have finally found hope. There are several and close to me, but you just have to drive a little ways to meet them. I have just come home from the second monthly meeting of the Silent Traffic Model Car Club in Trappe, PA. What a nice club with super nice folks. And they draw a crowd of about 25-30 people at their monthly meeting. This is a great club and if you live in or around the Southeastern part of Pennsylvania it is well worth checking out. I have posted more info and some photos I took at last nights meeting on my website if you would like to check them out. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/purvissp1/images/Trappe.htm
Andy Wyatt Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Hey Steve, if you want to drive another hour or so the first Saturday of each month the CPMCC meets in Mt. Wolf PA. I know a couple of the Silent Traffic guys are members...Dan Peterson and Mike Cole...maybe more. CPMCC has a lot of great members in it. Check us out sometime. You aren't too terribly far from the MAMA's either in Greenbelt MD.
purvissp Posted August 13, 2006 Author Posted August 13, 2006 Thanks for the info and invite Andy. I did look up Mt. Wolf, that would be quite a way for me. But you never know. When do the meet at Mt Wolf? I did meet Dan last night at the SilentTraffic meet. I thought he also mentioned something about a club down around York, PA. Are you familiar with that one? I do plant to get down to a MAMA meeting sometime in the future. Sure great to meet all of the new folks and see some of their super workmanship.
PatRedmond Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 I still say 'Silent Traffic' is the best name EVER for a model club.

Steve, We meet the first Saturday of the month.........and we average about 25-30 guys. Mt. Wolf is a suburb of York, as it's only a stones throw down the road. The MAMA meetings are the third Saturday of the month..............There's a meeting next Saturday as a matter of fact!
purvissp Posted August 13, 2006 Author Posted August 13, 2006 Thanks for the info Bill. Not sure about next Saturday, but I do want to get down to MAMA someday. Also thanks for the info on Mt Wolf. When I tried to find it it showed it was way up in PA by route 80. York is not that bad, probably about 70 miles from here.
Billy Kingsley Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 The TNMCC averages about 40-45 people at each meeting... http://www.tnmcc.com
