I think this would make a neat project. I think the cab exists in resin. The bed could be scratchbuilt. Can anyone identify the make of the bed so I could look for reference photos, egineering drawings?

On a truck that size, I'd guess Holmes 600.  If you find drawings, please share.

Definitely looks like a Holmes bed. I think there was a die cast version of that wrecker ( or one close to it), not certain of the scale as it may not be 1/24-1/25.

The one Ben has is closer to what your original picture depicts. Might want to check out a Wal Mart, they sometimes have diecast trucks similar to these.
