Jonathan Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 This was a rescue. You can follow the build progress here. In retrospect, I wished I'd applied clear before mounting the glass and body. But, I have concerns that the kit might not be able to handle one more disassembly. Maybe one day ... I have another of these, waiting to be rescued. I hope to lower at least the front a tad so that it doesn't have the appearance of missing an engine. Of course, it's a curbside kit, so maybe that "higher in the front" look is appropriate! The mirrors were sourced, I think, for a 70's era Corvette. I'm not real happy with how the right hand one ended up looking crooked. Live and learn...... Thanks for looking!
Curt Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Jon, seeing your beautiful restoration here made me realize I need to build a replica of the 1:1 1981 RX-7 I once had. I had picked up the Tamiya kit on eBay and Vitan is going to make me some wheels when time permits. Thanks for the inspiration and congrats on your excellent work!
espo Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Great save. The wheels remind me of the engines Rotor. Ya it needs to be a little lower, but it looks good.
