Red Byron was the first Nascar Strickly Stock champion in 1949. Strickly Stock was the forerunner to what is now known as the Monster Energy Cup series. The kit I used was the Revell 1950 olds kit. I did some modifications to the body to make it look like a 49. The build took 105 hours to complete. The paint is Model Masters Acryl polished and final coated with future floor finish which is now known as Pledge Floor Care.

Very nice Mark.  How do you apply the Future?

J.C. I use a wide brush barely overlapping each pass.

also make sure you don't use too much or it will run and pile up due to gravity. Future is now sold as Pledge Floor Care.

Great build! I've been wanting to do this car myself but haven't been able to find the decals, did you make your own ?

Gary, yes I made the decals. Remember , there is no 49 olds kit. I'm not sure if anyone makes a resin

I wish I could make my own as well I have a number of projects that I doubt that will ever be done by the aftermarket, I just don't have the computer skills to pull it off! But again Mark nice job ,Rick!
