Don't forget that there would be a timber rail between the frame and the bottom of the dump body.  That would make the body sit at about the right height.

I built a vintage dumper almost 50 years ago and scratch built  a bed with opening tailgate at that time. If you PM me your email address I will send some pix of it to you.I based mine on the cab and fenders from a Revell '29 Ford model A pick up truck kit.
