Lovefordgalaxie Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Built this two '40 Fords 24 years apart from each other. The first one, with the wrong white interior, and yellow licence plates, was built back in 1993 when I was 16 years old. Used a restored car as my research source, and it had a non stock interior, and dual exhaust. Also used sand paper to make more "realistic" and wrong running boards... Also, the model was painted with a spray can. Not Tamiya or anything of the sort. It was just a cheap black enamel used to paint household stuff, it was all I could afford. The second Ford I built this year, from a sedan delivery and some coupe parts I had in the parts box, a restoration, more or less, but it's all AMT '40 Ford with the exception of the tires that are cast in rubber with a resin whitewall. This new model was also painted with enamel, but of automotive grade, and airbrushed. Looking at them I got to conclude my skill level is more or less the same it was back in 1993. I don't know if its a good thing... 1940 Ford X 1940 Ford. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1940 Ford X 1940 Ford. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1940 Ford X 1940 Ford. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1940 Ford X 1940 Ford. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1940 Ford X 1940 Ford. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1940 Ford X 1940 Ford. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1940 Ford X 1940 Ford. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1940 Ford X 1940 Ford. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1940 Ford X 1940 Ford. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1940 Ford X 1940 Ford. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1940 Ford X 1940 Ford. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1940 Ford X 1940 Ford. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1940 Ford X 1940 Ford. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1940 Ford X 1940 Ford. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1940 Ford X 1940 Ford. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1940 Ford X 1940 Ford. by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr
Lizz62 Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Anyway you look at it, they're both really nice so I would be happy. It just means you've been really good at building models for a long time
dodgelover Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 It's like looking into a mirror. Just the older one is a little lower in front is all.
espo Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 You should be proud of both of these 40's. The earlier build could be a "Day two" build.
RestoModGuy Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Excellent builds, both of them and yes I agree you have master skill even at 16 and today.
Perspect Scale Modelworks Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I agree with everyone else, both are very well done.
RAMBENNA Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 excellent, both are fantastic, great work on these
