Of course the mechanical are similar they are both Mercurys built 2-years apart.  Not sure I understand what you are wanting to know.

The '65 is based on the Compact Falcon body and the '67 is based on the midsize Fairlane.

comparing the instructions they seem to have the same floorpans & front inner fenders, just wondering if suspension parts could be swapped

In the 1:1 world, the spindles can be swapped, but little else. In the model world, parts can be swapped as the suspension looks about the same in scale. So if you are looking to make the suspension more correct, and the AMT kit offers a better looking setup, swap away.

I don't have both kits in front of me to confirm but I would suspect the suspension can be swapped.  Why do you want to swap them?
