hotpavepete Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Hi all members. A new member from Bordertown, South Australia. For the past 20+yrs i've been modeling in 1/87 scale (Vehicles & railroads) but now nearly 60 yrs old i'm finding it more difficult to hold the small 1/87 parts i kitbash & scratchbuild so am returning to modeling 1/24--1/25 truck & trailer models.Quite a few years ago i read a short review in a Scale Auto Enthusiast mag on an resin 1/25 scale truck Cement Mixer barrel kit made by Kit Form Services & sold by Spaulding Shipping & Trading. Wonder if this kit is still availabe or maybe another resin kit that i could buy online. I sometimes buy builtup & Junkyard type 1/25 truck models off e-bay so who knows what i'll turn upI have a new (unbuilt) AMT White Western Star tractor kit that i'm thinking of building minus sleeper) as a rigid 6x4 dump truck so i'm looking to buy a resin or white metal dump truck body (10 yd or bigger) kit to suit this chassis as scratcbuilding this body with styrene sheet would use quite a bit of material.Anyway Thanks to all here.Regards. Pete
gatorincebu Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 (edited) Pete, I'm not sure if KFS still has the mixer kit available .Google kit Form Services .That will get you to their website .AITM has a mixer kit. And also a couple dump bodies of different sizes. http://www.aitruckmodels.com/And if you give them a call they can answer any questions you may have about their products ! Be well Gator Edited July 3, 2017 by gatorincebu
Warren D Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 A second vote for AITM. The mixer body appears based on the old KW mixer kit.
plastic trucker Posted July 5, 2017 Posted July 5, 2017 Maybe with the release of the KW kit, Maybe they release the mixer kit too. One can only hope.
gotnitro? Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 If your looking for something more modern than the Challenger mixer offered thru aitm, dave also has the mtm mcneilus mixer available. You have to ask for it and understand there's no instructions yet, but it's well worth the money having a modern mixer. I've purchased 2 of them and been very happy . I recently finished one in the cranesville paystar scheme
