What really impressed; me having a few scars and used to have a bunch of holey shirts and pants; is the guy holding the 'rod' with his bare fingers.

Yes he is Wayne. We have one at work, they use .010, .020 and .030 wire.

By the way when they hit their finger the yell. The Laser beam will go right through a soda can both sides instantly. When they weld they look through a 40 power eyepiece.

I was surprised to to see a second pass with the laser alone after the filler rod was welded on. Laser welding with filler rod was a new one for me after 22 years in cutting tool manufacture.

I do not get  to use it but the guys that do sometimes  do the second  pass with just the laser to melt the filler it to the sock being repaired for better penetration. they also  do that when laying multiple beads side by side for filler.
