Wondering if anyone else is thinking about wrecker beds for late model trucks like I am? The Meng F-350 is the closest thing we have to a modern pickup and a couple of issues back, Gregg showed us how to cut the cab down into a single cab and that had me thinking about a modern wrecker bed for it, along with a wheel lift.

I have also thought about the upcoming IH 1600 resin kit that Charles Rowley has mastered and how great it would be to have a Holmes wrecker bed for it. The world of medium duty tow trucks has been ignored and along with this resin kit, AMT is re-issuing the Ford Louisville truck that begs for wrecker bed too.

Feel free to chime in with your thoughts and if you know of sources for resin kits, please share!

Someone does make a under lift and a rollback bed for the 1 tons... you see him pop up on ebay every so often and I think hes a member here to of mcm?

Kfs used to make a resin Holmes 750 that's unfortunately out of production,  but does occasionally pop up on ebay from time to time. That'd be perfect for the load star .

There's been a bed on evil bay for awhile , but it would need serious attention to straighten the warps

Yes, I agee, when there seems to be nothing from big plastic or resin, I look toward plastic toys or die casts for donor parts. Here is a Danbury mint  wrecker knock off that might look good on a 50's truck, but will  look dated for 60's and 70's 2 ton.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Welly-1-24-1953-Chevrolet-Tow-Truck-Wrecker-Blank-Black-/331537494391?hash=item4d312cb177:g:ShoAAOSwrklVOVwZ a more modern 1 ton wrecker donor http://www.ebay.com/itm/F-Mobil-Chevy-Silverado-Tow-Truck-for-your-G-scale-Layout-1-25-/152624684895?hash=item238923df5f:g:5Y8AAOSwgZZZaZFY
