Brudda Posted August 29, 2018 Author Posted August 29, 2018 Hello and did one side window. The thing I learned from this is not do it. Unfortunately I have one more to go. Did my best. The fit is ok. About 70 percent happy with it. The moulding around the window is a pretty good fit.
Chris Smith Posted August 29, 2018 Posted August 29, 2018 From your pictures I can’t see anything wrong. You do know we are our own worst critic. Keep plugging away. Looks great!
Brudda Posted September 8, 2018 Author Posted September 8, 2018 Starting to fit the rear window. Fitting photo etched moulding. The moulding will be painted red. Have about 12 more pieces to paint red.
Brudda Posted October 2, 2018 Author Posted October 2, 2018 Thank you Chris for the encouraging words. MFH makes a beautiful model. How they do it is really amazing. For me it is a hard model to do because of the detail. I’m on the straight away for the finish. Only about 150 more parts to put on. The glass was hard for me because it was vacuum formed. Cut to fit. Rear glass is cut and I am polishing this out. Head lamp covers are cut and fit also. Really comming together. Not as good as the guys on the MFH site but I am very happy with it. Here are a few more pics. Hope you like
Belugawrx Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Looks like you are really nailing this down Bruce Gorgeous finish on that paint man Cheers
Chris Smith Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 Your build is coming together so nicely! I am a little jealous, keep it up your almost there. Thanks again for the information, it gives me something to consider when I decide to get one of these kits( just don’t tell the wife the cost)??
Brudda Posted October 6, 2018 Author Posted October 6, 2018 Thank you Chris, and oh boy about the cost! I can hide the 1/25 kits from the wife but at the MFH price it is impossible. You can hide $40 bucks but when it is $650 or higher man it’s tough! I have the Dan Gurney F1 MFH car and my buddy Mark just bought me the MFH 917/30 can am car. He is holding on to it for me till I come up with the money. He buys at discount prices but even at that it is still very expensive.
Brudda Posted October 6, 2018 Author Posted October 6, 2018 P.S. if you need red for you car I just recurved more from my distributor. So I have enough for a lifetime. Let me know and I will send you some.

Brudda Posted October 9, 2018 Author Posted October 9, 2018 front lights finished. Starting to look like a P4. Hope you like
Brudda Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 Thank you Chris. The front end is finished. Just have to do the windshield wiper. Doing the rear now. There is still so much to put on. Chris I know how you like detail , well the headlamps are a assembly. With headlamp bulbs! Hope you like.
Brudda Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 Well guys it’s just about done. Windshield arm and blade. I’m not going to put numbers on it. Love the shape and like her without numbers. This is the way I would have one. I would put it on the street to drive. Dino Martin (Dean Martins son) did put a P3 on the street. Fly yellow. It was in a motor trend article I believe around 1967. Thanks for the kind words. I’m going to install the wiper and when the weather gets better I will shoot some glamour shots. Build one, you will love it!!!
Chris Smith Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 Such an awesome build! Yes I do like the detail. The headlights are trick. Congratulations on completion of this fine automobile So what’s next?
Brudda Posted October 11, 2018 Author Posted October 11, 2018 Well I do not know. Going to go back to 1/25 for a little while. But the Gurney F1 car is the next 1/12. This F1 car is my favorite looking car of the time. The P4 had a lot of fit issues. That is probably why you do not see many finished. The 917/30 looks very complex. That is going to be a challenge. Probably a year build at least. The P 4 was about 10 months. I do like MFH kits and I am hooked. I will be saving for more. You have to get at least one and it will be a great experience. For me it was a love , hate relationship at first then you settle in and realize it’s going to take a lot of time and redesigning parts. But when you kick back and see it when it’s done, it’s worth it! Thanks for the encouraging words and let me know when you need the paint.
Riverview Hobbies Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 Looks great Bruce. An impressive build. Jim
Brudda Posted October 11, 2018 Author Posted October 11, 2018 Thank you Riverview Hobbies. Here is Dino Martin’s Ferrari P3. Around 1967
Codi Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 Bruce, just wow. You've really got me wondering what madness I'm doing in 1/25th. My old eyes are making it harder and these 1/12th cars seem like such fun. Beautiful car by any measure. You've gotta be one proud papa having that one on your shelf. Congratulations.
