Greg Wann Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 https://www.bnamodelworld.com/hobby-tools-supplies-materials-rivets-bolts-nuts?zenid=d190c63c88986fe89129165429bef155 I found this for you in a search.
64SS350 Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Micro Mark carries them, in train or decal section. They go on sale sometimes also.
oldr-n-drt Posted November 6, 2017 Author Posted November 6, 2017 guys..looking for pop rivets...not the drive in rivets...pop rivets are installed with a hand tool or air operated tool....you drill a hole an squeeze the handle of the tool an it breaks off the small nail in center of pop rivet an expands it in the hole..any other ideals?? oldr-n-drt
oldr-n-drt Posted November 6, 2017 Author Posted November 6, 2017 they are also called..... blind pop rivets....oldr-n-drt
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 they are also called..... blind pop rivets....oldr-n-drtYou do realize that a 1/8" pop rivet with a 1/4" head showing would only be .010" in 1/25 scale, right? That would make the hole for the stem, about 1/16" in full scale, only about .0025" in 1/25 scale. Pretty hard to see the difference on a model.
socal76 Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Check Archer details They are resin and are about what you need.
astroracer Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Make them. The 1/25th scale diameter of the rivet head will be 0.01 ( a #87 drill) OR .25mm's. Stack a couple of pieces of clear plastic (1/8th inch or so thick) and use the drill to drill a hole through both pieces. Lay some aluminum foil in between and punch out a circle with the back side of the drill. This will get you as many rivets as you will ever use in a couple of minutes...Mark
Bill J Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 That's brilliant astroracer, thanks for that tip.
astroracer Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Thanks Bill, but not really. I use one of these a lot in the shop making one-off gaskets and templates for 1 to 1 cars I am building. My punch is much bigger, but the principal is the same. https://www.micromark.com/Micro-Punch-Set
