Bobchayer Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 1910 Ford Model T Torpedo, 1/16 scale, manufactured by Hudson Miniatures Old Timers, Scranton, Penna. in 1949. Kit contained cast wheels, radiator, and lights; steel wire, soft and hard balsa wood; and cardstock. 0.5 Mm styrene was used for the hood. Fenders and running boards were from a Lindberg 1/16 kit and heavily modified to fit. Rag top was from gabardine trousers bought in a thrift shop. Upholstery was made from 1/8 inch square pine sanded to shape.
mr moto Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 That's crazy amazing! I have an old Hudson kit (of an International IIRC) but it scares me to look in the box and think about actually trying to build it.
bbowser Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 Great model! Who would have thought of thrift store pants for a top?
Eric Macleod Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 I agree. Nicely done. I've always wanted an Open Runabout (which is what Ford called this bodystyle) of my own. Your model is a real inspiration.A lot of work went into this. Thanks for posting it.
John Goschke Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 Very impressive! I've always wanted to try one of these.
