Jim Nabors (Gomer Pyle) dead at age 87

Mayberry's top mechanic has passed away at age 87.

Wonder if Sgt Carter will be waiting to greet him (I can't hear youuuuuuu!)

One of my favorite shows back in the day and still holds up good today I think. I refer to the Andy Griffin show.

Great actor and singer. After watching him play the Gomer Pyle character and then the USMC goof off you would never suspect the man could sing the way he could. He had a good "run" and he and his talent will be missed.

I wasn't aware that Jim Nabors - Gomer Pyle was made an honorary Marine.  He was also promoted to Private Flirst Class, then lance Corporal, Corporal, and sergeant by the Commandant of the Marine Corps several times.  I guess it's safe to say Semper Fi brother.
