JollySipper Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Hey, Guys...... I'm just wondering what would be the best method for making flush mount skirts? They will be going on a '37 Ford Coupe. Thanks in advance!
StevenGuthmiller Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 For something as simple as a '37 Ford, I would think just plain old sheet styrene would suffice. Nothing odd about the shape of the fender, no lips, etc. I reshaped a set of Johan 1960 Chrysler skirts to fit a '62 Ford a while back. Worked great! I installed them using average masking tape in case I would ever decide to remove them. Steve
stitchdup Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 If you have any scrap small scale planes (1/32 1/35), the wing tips are easily modded into skirts. If you dont have ant small scale bi-planes will give you 2 sets and tend to work for 30/40's cars with a small triangle added to the inevitable gap at either the front corner or rear corner of the fenders. I used this method on a 40 ford coupe and found it worked well but lost the pics to poobucket
