geetee66
Very nice indeed! Your engine looks great. Also, it looks like you used tiny bits of foil, under the radio dial and warning lights, then clear colours over that. it works really well! The radio display looks illuminated, with those old skool green LED's glowing at you. Top build! Looking forward to seeing the finished thing. ? Erik Smith
All the “glass” has the trim molded in - so a little time masking for paint...pretty easily done thanks to a sharp edge along the trim. Erik Smith
Masking for the fender flares - if they are flares. They shouldn’t be on a regular Rabbit, I don’t think, but I didn’t take care of that earlier, so... I made a personal discovery - Tamiya masking tape for curves. It’s magic. Really. Thanks! Actually, I used Molotow chrome with Tamiya clear on top - but same idea. The Molotow is easier to get into the small spots than foil too. Modelbuilder Mark
Ii I have to tell you, I would have had no interest in a model of this car normally, but your efforts in the extra work are really paying off. Nice results. Oh, and I am looking forward to your continued build process. Edited January 18, 2018 by Modelbuilder Mark
Eric Macleod
I agree with Mark's comments, though i did once own a 1981 Rabbit painted yellow...you have me thinking...Great model in every way.
espo
I have to agree with the others here. This not a subject that I would normally be interested in but with this build I'm thinking I'd better pick up this kit while it's on the shelf. The extra effort being put into this build really makes it interesting.
